Union School Field Day

Field Day for the students in grades 4 and 5 was planned for tomorrow, Friday, May 4. We have had rain every evening for the last few days and rain is a possibility for Thursday night into Friday morning. This will make the field unplayable. I have canceled Field Day.  Friday, May 4, will be a normal school day at Union School. Please be sure that your child has a snack and lunch. If you use aftercare, the “Y” has been contacted. Field Day will occur on Friday, May 18.

Yours truly,

Mr. P.

International Snack Fair -Tuesday March 13th

On March 13th (Tuesday) during lunch, Union School PTA will be
hosting a cultural celebration of food from all over the world. Parents and
guardians of Union School students from different cultural backgrounds
are invited to bring in traditional dishes. We hope this fair will become an open
event for students and parents of Union School to share their heritage.
For more information in English please click here. For more information in Spanish please click here. For more information in Korean please click here.

Students would gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the various cultures
that make up the fabric of our school. Participants would have an opportunity

PTA Reflections Program is under way!

“Diversity Means” The theme for 2011-2012 “Diversity Means” can be expressed in many different ways. What does it mean to your child? Please encourage your child to participate in this enriching program. Students need more opportunities to create works of art. The Reflections Program provides an outlet for students to creatively explore what they are learning in the classroom. When children express themselves through words, pictures, music, dance, film, and other art media, they grow intellectually; they learn to analyze their thoughts and feelings. The Reflections Program helps parents recognize, support, and enhance their children’s continuous process of self-discovery.

All entries are due on Friday, December 9th. Contact Joanna D’Avanzo at joannadavanzo@verizon.net with any questions.
